Another one of my favorite personalized gifts is one incorporating photos and memories from your time spent together. I have given my husband creative photo gifts for anniversaries and his birthday. Here’s some ideas for your gift to your significant other:
Collage Photo Gift
Looking for a way to display memories or photos from the last year of your relationship but you aren’t a scrapbooker? All you need is a nice picture frame and a collection of mementos you’d like to display. I picked out two tickets from memorable trips we had taken to a baseball game and the zoo, and a picture from our first vacation together. We also “happened” by a photo booth for the perfect last addition of part of a photo strip.
Take the photo frame apart and remove the photo paper inside to trace a correctly sized piece of thick paper or cardstock for the collage’s base. Before attaching, try different arrangements, then use a glue stick to adhere the items to the cardstock. This collage that I made for our six month dating anniversary still sits on my husband’s desk at work.
Want to record your year together with your smart phone or Instagram photos? This frame has room for nine 4X4 photos. Feature photos from every season, nine couple selfies, the year’s best moments, or shots of your favorite spots to spend time together. You could switch out the photos every year and store the rest in a photo box or a 4×4 album.
This frame is a take on a clip-line photo display. It features two metal rods suspended in a black frame with a reversible black/white background and eight metal clips. You can easily switch out photos or mementos as the seasons change or as new memories are made.
Wall Art Photo Gift
This beautiful wooden “Live, Laugh, Love” frame was part of my husband’s birthday gift this year. I realized that we had no wedding pictures on display, but wanted a nontraditional frame that would serve as a piece of wall art in our living room as well. Here are some other unique photo display options that double as wall art.
Scrapbook Photo Gift
I started to work on a scrapbook featuring on first year of marriage last year, although I haven’t bought the hard copy yet. Since traditional scrapbooking is a little overwhelming to me, I chose to create the scrapbook using software from Snapfish. Most of the
photos were already on my computer and I also snapped photos of some of the mementos from our first year of marriage. I included lists throughout the scrapbook that included highlights from our honeymoon, highlights from each season, favorite memories, as well as a note for husband. Since they provide a lot of formats and layouts for pages, it was easy to choose what I wanted and alter them.
If you are more adventurous then me, an actual scrapbook can create a very meaningful gift for your significant other. There are even scrapbook kits available that provide all the supplies you need if you don’t want to spend hours wandering through the aisles at a craft store.
