It’s July and that means that baby girl should be arriving some time in the next month. Things are falling into place. The nursery is almost complete and all purchases have been made. Except for a chair. I would really love a traditional rocking chair, but am having a tough time tracking one down. The bags for the birth center are packed and the frozen meals for after the birth are finished. And all the nesting and cleaning means the house is almost ready for her to come home.
celebrating
My sister and mom threw us a baby shower in mid June and the theme was rubber duckies. We felt so blessed that everyone that was invited was able to come. It was a great afternoon spent with friends and family celebrating our little baby girl.
visiting
Friends and family both at the baby shower and in the weeks afterward.
baking
Delicious fruit desserts for our 4th of July BBQ. I love to make my family recipe of apple cobbler (check it out here). Last year I found this amazing recipe for strawberry crumb bars, which make my husband extremely happy because he loves strawberries.
wearing
Maternity dresses that I found in resale shops plus tops from Motherhood. More details can be found in my pregnancy survival guide post. I also wrote about mental health resources and support group options for pregnancy and postpartum.
loving
The big rubber ducky from the baby shower has been showing up in the strangest places around the house…
I love to support my favorite fellow bloggers, so when I found out that Leigh Kramer, whose blog I have been reading for several years now, was releasing her first novel in June, I was excited. And I wasn’t disappointed when I ordered the Kindle version. A Storied Life is both a romance and a story of rediscovering yourself. The main character has largely given up on her dream of creating art until her dying grandmother reminds her what it means to live fully and without regrets.
